The Thermofix orthosis for dogs was specifically developed for the orthopedic treatment of pronounced hyperextension of the foreleg. It is based on a low-temperature thermoplastic , similar to that used in human orthopedics, and allows for individually adapted, highly stable fixation of the carpal joint.

The thermoplastic material used (Turbocast) softens at temperatures of approximately 70–80 °C and can be precisely molded directly to the dog's front leg. After cooling, the material hardens and permanently retains its shape. This creates a precise, individual fit that adapts perfectly to the dog's anatomy – even in the sensitive area of the dewclaw. Despite complete fixation, this minimizes the risk of pressure sores.

Area of application and function

This orthosis is used particularly in cases of severe carpal joint instability . It ensures complete immobilization of the wrist and offers maximum stability when a functional brace is no longer sufficient.

In cases of mild hyperextension, a premium bandage with aluminum stays may be sufficient as an alternative.

Instructions for use

Please watch the provided instructional video carefully before using the product.
The thermoplastic material must not be stretched lengthwise or widthwise , otherwise it will no longer fit correctly into the intended pocket. If the material is too wide after fitting, excess material can be carefully trimmed with sharp scissors.
